Adam Hedrick Obituary

Adam Stephen Hedrick
November 4, 1994 – February 27, 2025

Adam Stephen Hedrick embarked on his next adventure on February 27th, 2025, leaving behind a life lived quietly but meaningfully. He died peacefully surrounded by close friends and family.

Adam was born in Danbury, Connecticut, on November 4th, 1994, to Cynthia Proulx Hedrick and Stephen Hedrick. He graduated from Western Connecticut State University in 2017 and began pursuing his journey in finance, as he was quite number oriented. Aside from the stressors of building one’s life as a young man, he spent much of it battling the ups and downs of a genetic condition called Neurofibromatosis. This was nothing short of unforgiving, especially in the earliest years of his life. Through numerous invasive surgeries and hundreds of painstaking
nights, Adam cultivated an incredible inner resilience that he carried with him until the end. Learning to live with such everchanging struggle gave rise to great creativity, which translated well into everything he did.

Adam was a gentle soul who found joy and comfort in his own quiet company. Timid by nature and often keeping to himself, he crafted a peaceful life. Whether it was a solitary hike through the woods, a cozy game night, gardening or personal dates exploring the world on his own terms, Adam embraced life with quiet curiosity. His solitude was never lonely; it was intentional, reflective, and fulfilling.
Apart from his outdoor adventures, he grew close to and led a large online community composed of people all around the world. His close friends, who he would consider his second family, described him as a “rare type of person who inherently had kindness embedded into him, finding joy in being there for someone else regardless of whatever circumstance he may have been facing.”

He was meticulous in everything he did — thoughtful and deliberate, often thinking things through five times over to ensure every detail was perfect, much like his father. Adam wasn’t one to speak loudly about his passions, but there were many and they were meaningful to him. Those who knew him well saw the depth beneath his otherwise reserved exterior.

Adam now reunites with his beloved mother, Cynthia Hedrick, and his brother, Justin David Bach, both of whom he loved dearly and missed profoundly. His memory lives on through his father, Stephen L. Hedrick, and his brothers: Matthew Bach (Lauren) and Trevor Hedrick. He is also remembered by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many other family members and friends — each of whom held a special place in his heart, even if he didn’t always say so out loud.

A celebration of Adam’s life will be held on Sunday, March 23rd, at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St. Danbury, CT) from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Adam’s quiet strength, gentle spirit, and thoughtful nature will be dearly missed but forever cherished by those who knew him. May his next adventure bring him the same peace and joy he sought in this life.
