Thankamma Mathew Obituary

Mrs. Thankamma Mathew (Sosamma), 86, went home to be with the Lord on February 1st, 2019 surrounded by her family at home in Danbury, Connecticut.  Thankamma is survived by 3 brothers, her husband, 6 children, 15 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

She was born on October 28th, 1932 in Kanjirappally, Kottayam, Kerala, India.  She was one of 7 children and sole daughter of the late Mr. Chacko Korah and Mrs. Mariamma Chacko of Eravikulangara family, Kangazha.

Thankamma loved traveling, gardening, cooking, being with her precious grandchildren, and spending time in prayer and fellowship.

In 1949, she was married to Abraham A. Mathew and together they had six children while living in several towns throughout Kerala, India.  She was also a central figure in the growth and success of the extended family.

In 1985, the Ancheril family moved to America following their eldest son.  In all the places they lived, they were deeply involved in the philanthropic and spiritual uplifting of their community and contributed to the success and livelihood of many people.

She will be best remembered for her selfless love, generosity, nurturing spirit, and joy which was evidenced by her distinct playful laughter. Thankamma will be sorely missed and forever reside in our memories.
