Stavros Spiros Chelioudakis

Stavros Chelioudakis passed away peacefully at his home in New Milford CT on July 30, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. Stavros was born on Oct 28, 1947 in Chania, Crete, Greece to the late Despina and Spiros Chelioudakis.

Stavros was a Greek Veteran and served in Greece during peacetime. He worked as a cook for many restaurants throughout his career. 

Stavros was a patriotic man; he loved his family, his island, history, his dog and his garden. He could often be found in his garden tending to his fruit trees, wearing his trusty helmet to protect his head from dropping apples. He loved antiquing. He collected old coins, and war memorabilia. He was a unique man who had his own way of doing things, and he will be dearly missed. 

Stavros is survived by his beloved wife Susan Streaman Chelioudakis of 42 years. They shared three children together, Despina, Kostas and Nikos Chelioudakis. Two children from a previous marriage in Greece; Spiros Chelioudakis and Aggeliki Morou. As well as four beloved grandsons, three granddaughters, five sisters, and four brothers. 

A Visitation will be held on Monday August 5, 2019 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (30 Clapboard Ridge Rd Danbury 06811) from 10 to 11 a.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery (86 Fort Hill rd, New Milford CT 06776).

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (30 Clapboard Ridge Rd 06811) and/or National Philoptochos Social Services  (126 East 37th Street, New York New York 10016). The Chelioudakis family thanks New Milford Visiting Nurses, Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and National Philoptochos Social Services for their kindness.
