It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Scott L. Nesbitt on May 6th, 2018 at the age of 49 at Danbury Hospital after his year long battle with cancer. Scott showed all of us strength, determination, and the will to never give up.
Scott was born on October 12, 1968 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Eva and Lawrence Nesbitt. He was a skilled athlete and excelled at the sport of basketball, which was his passion. He attended Sugar Loaf High school and then moved to Danbury, CT to attend Western CT University. There he continued his basketball career and was also a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. Scott enjoyed spending time with his family above all else. His proudest moments came as he watched his youngest son play basketball in his footsteps. He loved to cook, entertain, and make others laugh. He was giving, kind, and loyal. His smile and personality were contagious and could light up any room. He was full of advice and always up for a good debate.
He is survived by his life partner of 27 years Heather Spears, their children Jessica Spears (Mike Willcox), Michael Spears, Francis Nesbitt (Tabitha Rubino), Scott Nesbitt JR. Siblings: preceded by Shorn Miller, survived by Shelton (wife Tameka) Nesbitt, Sherwin Nesbitt as well as his sisters Sabrina and Tonya. His grandchildren, Kaleah and Frankie.
