Robert (Bob) G. Dorsch, Jr., 76 a resident of Danbury, CT since 2014, passed away on May 1, 2019 at Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut surrounded by his family. Bob was born in the Bronx on January 17, 1943, the son of the late Robert and Doris (Black) Dorsch. He grew up in White Plains and was a graduate of White Plains High School and attended Wagner College. Bob was a longtime payroll manager for IBM before retiring at 47 and relocating to Lake Kiowa, Texas with his wife Shirley.
Bob enjoyed every part of his retirement. He was an active golfer, loved spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed being called Pip or Pipster by his grandchildren. Bob touched many people’s lives and had a true heart of gold. Bob is survived by his son Robert G. Dorsch III and his wife Misty of Danbury, his daughter Heather Muller and her husband Jacob of Danbury and his step daughter Tesa Golden and her partner Tami of Dallas. Bob had 7 cherished grandchildren, Skylar, Payton, Savanna, Olivia, Harrison, Nate and Theo. Bob is also survived by his sister Deborah Handelsman and husband Steven of Harrison, NY and a sister-in-law Betty Eveleno of Danbury. Bob also had eight nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his true love Shirley (Neu) Dorsch, and brothers Ronald, Stephen and Richard.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Danbury Elks Club (36 Sugar Hollow Rd, Danbury CT 06811) on Saturday June 1st, 2019 beginning at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.
