Ralph J. D’Andrea, age 67, of Bethel, CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 after a courageous 15 year battle with cancer.
He was born on March 24, 1951 in Greenwich, CT to the late William and Carmela (Fuscaldo) D’Andrea. Ralph was raised in Cos Cob and Riverside, CT and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1969. He moved to Bethel, CT with his family in 1984 where he and his wife JoAnn raised their three daughters. Ralph worked in the field of Information Systems starting as a computer programmer and later working as a systems analyst and project manager. Ralph worked with AT&T, Continental Baking Company, Norden Systems, Keane Inc., and Chemtura Corporation.
Ralph enjoyed staying active—he played on softball teams, participated in bowling leagues, and was always up for playing a round of golf with friends. He was a big New York Yankees and Miami Dolphins fan. Ralph also enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards and scrabble, spending time outdoors, and coaching his daughters’ softball teams. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family and friends. His granddaughter, Cecilia, was the light of his life and he cherished every moment of “Ceci and Papa time.”
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, JoAnn (Caruso), three daughters, Caroline and her partner Gizmo Rivera, Lauren, and Jennifer and his beloved granddaughter Cecilia. He is also survived by his brother William D’Andrea, mother-in-law Rose Caruso and many nieces and nephews.
