Mrs. Gloria Priar-Rawlings, 54, of Danbury CT, passed away peacefully at home Sunday August 27, 2017. Gloria was born June 24, 1963 in Tchula, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Claudia Nash of Danbury, CT and Felix Green of Memphis, TN. Gloria was raised in Danbury, CT and attended Danbury Public Schools.

Gloria spent many years working in the hospitality industry and was the smiling face at the front desk of various area hotels, most recently the Courtyard Marriott. Gloria was loving and loyal to her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, entertaining, and cooking. Her heart and home was always opened to all.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memory, former husband and friend Ronnie Rawlings Sr.; four children: Ebonie Priar, Ronnie (Tiffany) Rawlings Jr., Dezera and Darrell Priar, King Wallace-King and their father Darrell King, who was Gloria’s long-time partner and the love of her life; five beautiful grandchildren,  Artazia, Javon, Artez, Sharee, and Jada who loved their “Grandma G”; three sisters, Doris Priar-Cardwell, and Claudette Priar, of Danbury, CT, Cassandra (Traci) Sandidge of Atlanta, GA; and one brother Hubert “June” (Janice) Nash of Washington Depot, CT; special nieces Shieda Cardwell, Jahasia Staton, Ashley Ramlal, Caprina Kerner, Amanda Gillotti, Kamilah Huq and nephew Nazeer Priar; mothers-in-law Jackie Rawlings and Mildred Tompkins; father-in-law Tom Tomkins; as well as many aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

Gloria was predeceased by her grandparents Essie and Pate Priar and her father-in-law Thomas “Pop-Pop” Rawlings. 

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Friday September 1,2017 from 11 am to 1 pm at New Hope Baptist Church(12 Aaron Samuel's Blvd Danbury Ct with a celebration of life service at 1 pm. Burial will take place in Wooster cemetery. 

The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support we have been shown during this very difficult time. It is during times like this that we are often tested and we are eternally grateful to each and every one of you.
