Donald P. Menken, 81, died September 23, 2018 at his home in New Fairfield, Connecticut.
Donald was born on August 9, 1937 to Edna and Harry Menken. He grew up in Nutley, New Jersey, graduating from the Montclair Academy. He was first employed by Merrill Lynch on Wall Street. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree with Yale University’s Class of 1959, he worked for Boeing in Seattle, Washington from 1960 to 1963.
In 1964, Donald married Karen Kover. He enjoyed a 30-year career with IBM, which moved his family from Poughkeepsie, New York to Austin, Texas, and finally to Connecticut. He retired from IBM in 1993. He was passionate about computer programming, which he enjoyed until the day he died.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2015. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Merideth (Trey Poulson) of Alexandria, Virginia, and Andrea (Jason Reeves) of Redding, California, as well as a brother-in-law, Bruce Kover of Rio de Janeiro, and two nieces. Arrangements are private.
