BERNARD C.  "BUDDY" GILLOTTE-passed away peacefully on September 1,2017 in Wilton Meadows in Wilton Ct. He was the son of the late Gerald and Catherine (Ford) Gillotte the youngest of 11 and husband of the late Margaret T. (Peggy McCrystal) Gillotte for 60 years. He was born on April 8, 1935 Danbury, Ct He attended Danbury Schools and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School.He married Margaret T. (Peggy) McCrystal on June 1, 1957

He is survived by his children- John "Jack" (Susan Mazzucco),Nicholas (Tina Rogers), Teresa (Gary) Watkins and Daniel (Rosie Weaver). Also several grandchildren,Christopher (Haley Firmender), Benjamin, Nicola and Samantha Gillotte of Danbury, CT, Anthony Freitas and Bianca Freitas Gillotte, JoJo Gillotte all of Austin, TX. as well as several nieces and nephews. Buddy was predeceased by Peggy (January 23, 2017), his infant son-Anthony, his parents and 10 siblings. He owned and operated Gillotte Electric and Bud Gillotte Realty.He was a Golden Gloves Boxer in his younger days, He spent his youth on Golden Hill, playing baseball and riding horses, Also playing hockey on Juniper Ridge Pond. He served in the US Army, stationed in Germany, where their first child was born. Buddy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren swimming in his pool, times on the beaches of Rhode Island, trips to Atlantic City (especially the VIP treatment that he and Peggy were afforded). He watched most sports, and much to Peggy's chagrin, long afternoons viewing Bonanza. Even during later years at Wilton Meadows, he enjoyed trivia, history and music sessions often to the delight of the activities director. He enjoyed time on the patio with family and showing off his grandpuppy, Bentley, to residents and staff. He truly missed Peggy and died of a broken heart. So while he will be missed, we hope that he is finally at peace.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Thursday September 7,  2017 at Danbury Funeral Home (117 South Street, Danbury, CT) from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in his memory may be made to The American Cancer Society or Charity of one's choice.
