Aaron Bennett Obituary

Aaron William “Max” Bennett passed away peacefully on August 1, 2018 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT.  He was born on June 12, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Viola (Petersile) and Aaron William Bennett.  

Aaron served as an altar boy at Saint Martin of Tours parish in Philadelphia, was a member of Saint Joseph’s Prep graduating class of 1952, and graduated with Villanova University’s class of 1956.  He was an engineer and a proud navy veteran who later worked for General Electric in Schenectady, NY and Stamford, CT for over 30 years.  Aaron was passionate about education and strived to impart and gain knowledge, especially with regard to history and culture. In his free time, he read, listened to opera music and Phillies games, and greatly appreciated good food.  He was a loyal and caring husband, father and grandfather.

Aaron is survived by his beloved wife Barbara O’Malley Bennett and their four children. Son Larry (Amanda) Bennett, and three daughters  -- Diane (Dennis) Glokler, Joan (Dan) Cory and Kathleen (Russell) Cataldi.  He had ten grandchildren -- Matthew, Stephen and Alex Poley; Jacqueline, Lauren and Alexandra Glokler; Louise and Alice Bennett; and Brian and Elyse Cory.
