Our father recently passed away two days before Christmas. It was a crushing loss, magnified by the upcoming holidays. From the first phone call to the final handshake and hug, Confessor and his staff were amazing. This wasn’t just a service and business transaction, it was humanity at its best during an extremely difficult time. The compassion and grace we were shown is truly remarkable, yet indescribable. Our dad was a great man and Danbury Memorial captured the essence of who he was, and for that we will be forever grateful.

My father suddenly passed away last week. So needless to say we were left with so many things that needed to be handled. A close family friend recommended Danbury Memorial Funeral Home. They were beyond wonderful. Starting with greeting us at the door each by our names. Kristen was so calming, going over every detail, probably more that once, never loosing her patience. Our experience with Danbury Memorial was wonderful. When a loved one dies, it is a time of deep sorrow and it can be hard to think clearly about what needs to be done. From the first phone call, Junior (Confessor) and Adrian treated us with compassion, respect and care. We had to coordinate sending a loved one to his home country and Junior explained the entire process and gently guided us through it. Adrian was so patient and kind – she prepared our loved one and did a beautiful job. At the funeral, they were both present and were there to hug and console us. This is the funeral home service you want to use. Having a loved one pass away is tough, but Confessor (aka Junior) and his team make the entire process easy. From the very first call, we were greeted with professionalism and courtesy. This was my first time handling any funeral arrangements, and while I hope it will be my last, at least Danbury Memorial Funeral Home made it effortless.

Confessor (Junior) and his team were wonderful all around. They were extremely responsive during the planning stage, which seemed to not be common practice amongst the funeral homes in the area. I live across the country and had to do the majority of the planning via email/phone. After speaking with over 14 homes, none of them impressed me the way that Junior and Amanda did. They were detailed and considerate, never pushing unneeded services or impatient with my questions. When Junior and Sean came to our home to retrieve our loved one, they were extremely respectful and never rushed us. They moved her with the upmost care and drove with caution.

I had no idea where to even start in regards to planning a funeral for a loved one. The first phone call I made was to Danbury Memorial and Junior answered the phone. From the moment he answered the phone I knew this would be my first and last phone call. Junior and his staff were so understanding, sympathetic, and compassionate. I had so many questions and he helped me with every situation. Junior went above and beyond and I could just go on and on about how highly I recommend this establishment. The only reason I gave Danbury Memorial Funeral 5 Stars, is because there was no option to give them more. I have dealt with Confessor Rodriguez 3 times now, each meeting a different need. He Pre-Planned a Cremation, and Service for my Aunt, handled the Cremation and Service for my Brother, and most recently handled the Burial and Service for my Father. For my Father he went above and beyond. We had a Military Service with the Playing of Taps, with Salute of Arms, and Presentation of the Flag to my Mother. He even brought a microphone and speaker to the cemetery so that everyone could hear the speaker clearly. All this and more, much more. The level of service was outstanding. The care and compassion with which he showed for me and my family was so needed at this difficult time. I simply can't thank him and his staff enough!

I had to take a few minutes to share the professionalism of this establishment. It made that big of an impression on not only myself, who was in charge of making arrangements, but also on everyone who attended the graveside funeral of our loved one. From the moment I called Confessor(Junior) and explained the circumstances (deceased was not a blood relative but a very good friend of ours but we were handling the funeral) I was immediately placed in the hands of his efficient team. Every phone call was answered along with every question. Paperwork and arrangements were all handled quickly. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (Confessor Rodriquez, Jr.) was highly recommended to me when I was searching for a place to view my brother who was in hospice. From the first conversation I had with Confessor also known as Junior, I knew this was where I wanted my brother to be. Junior showed compassion and made us all feel special, but the thing that stood out to me the most was when he said, "you take care of your brother and I'll take care of everything else", and he did. The place is clean, done in good taste and comforting. I thank God for putting someone like him in our life at such a difficult time as this. From the first phone call until the day of my dad’s burial, Junior was caring, professional, respectful, and above all compassionate. My youngest daughter passed away suddenly at the age of 44. Her two daughters and I were in such shock it was overwhelming. I immediately called Junior because I had gone to him five years ago when my brother passed away and he was wonderful then and I knew he would take care of my daughter in the same way he did my brother. When my mother-in-law passed away last month we immediately reached out to Confessor Rodriguez (aka Junior). Junior had done an amazing job when my father passed some years ago and we had heard he had opened Danbury Memorial. From the moment we walked in to make arrangements my wife and I felt comforted and comfortable. The arrangements were easy without the maudlin nature of some funeral homes. At no point did we feel a "hard sell." In fact, if anything, Junior gave us options to reduce costs if we so wished. The communication was just enough, without being overwhelming. When I brought a flash drive with some photos I brought my daughter (who had never been to a funeral before) and he made her feel at ease. Inside, the rooms are bright and modern, fitting for a life celebration. When we arrived the day of the celebration, he and his staff were beyond efficient, with staff in parking lot to direct parking, people opening doors and generally making people feel welcome and at ease. Once in the room we saw water bottles on all chairs and a lovely tapestry with a spot-on likeness of my mother-in-law based off a photo we provided. In short, I cannot recommend Junior and Danbury Memorial highly enough. They turned a difficult time into a bearable one and cannot thank them enough for that.

Having my mother pass was, as anyone who has gone through it, one of the most difficult things I have ever had to deal with. She lived close by, we spoke every day and although she was 88 we would go out to the store or for a ride. I knew Junior had opened Danbury Memorial and didn’t think twice about where I wanted her to go. When we showed up to make arrangements he let us know she was there and asked if we wanted to see her, which we did and she was comfortably blanketed and looking peaceful. While difficult, it made things easier for me. Throughout the arrangements and service I felt nothing but calm, peacefulness and a feeling that this was right, helping ease my sadness. To Junior and the staff at Danbury Memorial, thank you so much for helping our family get through this difficult time. Your kindness and going above and beyond will always be remembered.

He went above and beyond for our family through our difficult time without hesitation (as well as having to deal with his own personal situation). When our father passed, we wanted to find a place to really honor him. That’s what we received from Junior and his team. They did an amazing job. We visited a few other homes but came back to him. If you’re searching for the right place to take your loved one, you’ve found the place. They have the largest viewing room in the city of Danbury, which was important for us. Junior was amazing with the work he did on our father. He took a man who went through multiple rounds of chemo and radiation to the head, and made him look like he was peacefully resting. It was amazing. The treatment we received and service left us with no regrets or complaints. His prices were far better than others and he made sure we understood where it was worth saving money and where value could be found. You won’t regret choosing this home. You’ll have EVERYTHING taken care of and nothing to worry about. Thank you Junior. I couldn’t imagine getting through this without you. We just had my mothers funeral at Danbury Memorial. From beginning to end, the owner made sure that absolutely everything was just the way we wanted it. A very professional operation paying a lot of attention to detail. The owner, Confessor, was the one who made up my mom. I can't even describe how good of a job he did on her. Our whole family was extremely pleased. Be prepared to be treated like part of his family, which is something you just don't get from other funeral homes. It was nice feeling at this tough time. The facility was clean and well kept. They took care of the video slideshow - All I had to do was give them pictures. I would highly recommend visiting this establishment if you are comparing for prices as theirs was very competitive - but if you want to walk away with a feeling of complete satisfaction, then you owe it to yourself to visit their facility and speak with them. When my Mother in law Millie passed away, I remembered a beautiful service I had attended at Danbury Memorial a few years earlier and how wonderful Junior had assisted my family when my Dad passed in 2017 and thought they would be the right choice for us during this sad and difficult time. This review is long overdue but needed. My aunt passed away a year ago and to this day, I still think about her beautiful funeral held here. Jr was the most patient person, having to deal with my giant family and our request. For about a week straight, I was in constant contact with Jr, changing this and that, and he never complained once. The funeral home itself is great. It's clean and doesn't feel like death. Other funeral homes in the area look weathered and worn down. The best part about the funeral home is that it holds one service at that time. This means that you're not having to share the space with other grieving families. The service was beautiful and tailored to our Buddhist rituals. Before my aunt was cremated, we were able to lay flowers around her casket. It looked more like she was sleeping in a bed of flowers and it was a beautiful way to send her off. I can't say enough good things about this funeral home and the service speaks for itself.

JR and his staff are the most loving, kind and professional people I have been lucky to know. JR helped me go through one of the most difficult things I had to do. They're kind and loving people. My mom was a very unique women known and loved by many in the Danbury community. In our family she represented a sense of love, strength, and courage. I first contacted Danbury Memorial & Cremation for the first time in the middle of January 2016. My husband was under Hospice Care, and was advised to start planning the arrangements for when he passed. I knew that he would be cremated as those were his wishes. I will add that I had made several calls before calling Danbury Memorial & Cremation which was by a recommendation. From the moment that I spoke to whom I know now is Junior, I knew this would be the person that will be handling my husbands services. Fast forward to this past Saturday 2/13/16 which I had to make the final arrangements for my husband as his health declined drastically. I went to the location on South St, made a phone call, within less than 2 minutes I received a call back from Junior informed him that I was at his location and needed to make my final arrangements. He gave me a time that he would be at his location and I must say that he was right on time very punctual. From the moment that we walked in to his location you can feel the warmth, the caring and compassion that Junior showed toward my situation. He walked us thru everything that would happen from start to finish, step by step.... He is very patient, calm, professional, pleasant young man.... knew exactly what he was talking about and answered all my questions. He is a very meticulous with his work which is a huge plus as I had put my trust in him as my husband was transitioning and going home to be with the Lord. With the death of my brother I wasn't sure exactly how to handle his funeral. My daughter had read the many reviews of Danbury Memorial and suggested I contact them, which I did. We just lost my husband. The father of my children. A mother lost her son, a sister and brother lost their brother. I just sat reading the comments before mine, and everyone mimics exactly how I feel. Confessor, is a consummate professional and epitomizes "Gentleman" (he is a kind, caring "gentle" man). Nothing is as hard as saying goodbye to a loved one, but having Confessor taking care of every detail with such love and kindness is a rare gift. He truly cares about the family that is grieving. He does not push you to do or purchase things. He just truly cares about you and your family. We had a lot of people coming, and his staff handled the parking with ease.

My Grandma declined suddenly and was gone within 4 days. With little time to prepare emotionally or otherwise, my Mom was exhausted and stressed. Knowing she had to make final arrangements, she made a plan to call--except when Grandma passed away at 1am, it suddenly became an urgent matter. Danbury Memorial was recommended and Confessor responded immediately, in the middle of the night. He promised that he would help ease the burden, and that turned out to be an understatement. He arrived promptly to manage the situation but also offered private time with Grandma before stepping in. He was professional, calming, and genuinely caring. Mom was surprised and relieved that he asked for nothing that night. He only offered his help, encouraged her to rest easy, and suggested meeting in the morning wherever was most convenient for Mom--which turned out to be her house--to discuss the next steps. It was as if she had called on a close friend; he took care of everything and put Mom at ease.
Confessor is not new to the business, but his vision is refreshing: he treats your family as his own. He listens to understand what it is that you want to honor your lost loved one--as simple as that may be, or as different from the usual rituals. He is at all times aware of the individuality of every person's life, as well as the fact that a difficult situation is experienced and handled differently by everyone. Dealing with the death of a loved one is a very emotional and stressful event. Confessor and his team took care of the stressful part and tremendously helped with the emotional as well. He is a very professional individual that guided us through this tough process with sympathy and understanding. He went above and beyond what I would have expected and then some. All our questions were answered and all of our requests were fulfilled. Approximately 800 people attended our brother’s funeral and thanks to the effort and teamwork of everyone at Danbury Memorial, it went very smoothly. My uncle passed away four weeks ago. He was found in his apartment and the police sent his body to the state medical examiner's office in Farmington. It was by chance I selected Danbury Memorial Funeral and Cremation Service. I wanted the ceremony to be a Celebration of my Mother's life. Junior listened to my ideas. I could not have found a more accommodating and helpful person to assist and guide me.

I can't think of anything that's harder to make comfortable than a funeral. Junior and his staff made my uncle's funeral as comfortable as can be. My family had gone to a different funeral service first, but they didn't quite like the results, and didn't know where to turn. I suggested Danbury Memorial and Cremation, and Junior met us that day to set everything up. We got in there not feeling right, and were immediately made comfortable. There's a lot of respect here. Death is a lot harder on the living, but this place makes it a lot easier to deal with. I absolutely recommend this funeral home.

When my mom passed last Saturday I was in charge of calling a cremation center. When I made the first call I was told they couldn't help me because I didn't have cash up front, I was shocked,devastated and scared on what was going to happen to my mother now. Having just buried our father we were now faced with planning a service for our mother who was on hospice care.
This was the worst time of our lives. We met with Confessor (Junior) Rodriguez at his new facility in Danbury. It is not your “usual” old, dark and dingy, creaky floor funeral home. The whole place is light and feels welcoming. It is more a celebration of life which is exactly what it should be.
Confessor is a gentle soul. He has a way of making the situation bearable. Although we did not need his services immediately he kindly went though our options. It did not feel like we were just checking off boxes on a form! We walked around his facility and loved it. They have the ability to play a video on flat screen tv’s and also can play any songs on a state of the art sound system. The service can be as upbeat or serene as you want. They offer many options all at an extremely reasonable price.
