Mario Pages Obituary

Mario C. Pages Jr, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 24, 2024 at Autumn Lake Nursing Home. He was 88 years old.

Born on June 2, 1935 in Tampa, FL, son of the late Mario Pages Sr and Lillie Castillo. He graduated with a GED from Waterbury Adult Education at the age 66 to prove you're never too old to educate yourself. 

He was raised during the depression. He shined shoes and sold newspapers in NYC subways to help his family.

At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the U.S. NAVY and served in the Korean War on the Inchon River and witnessed the signing of the cease fire.

 Mario met Carmen T. Guzman and in a few months, they eloped and shared their love for each other for over 66 years. Together they raised their 3 children and had a wonderful life with one another.

Mario was an owner and operator of the original Dunkin Donuts on White Street in Danbury. He opened and managed the original Dunkin Donuts in the Colonial Plaza and general manager of stores in greater waterbury during the sixties,He also co-owned with his brother Eddie Pages Dunkin Donuts in Meriden during the seventies ,

He was an avid sports fan of the NY JETS and NEW YORK METS and attended the World Series winning game in 1969,

Mario is not only survived by his loving wife Carmen but also his children; Mario (Leslie) Pages, Robin W. Rodriguez and Kimberly (Gary) Schimanskey, his 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, his brother Eddie Pages, and numerous nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces who he loved and cared for deeply . He was predeceased by his sister Luzidalia (Arthur) Fiore and Edward Pages.

Mourners can pay their respects on Wednesday April 3, 2024 from 10am-12pm at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) with a service beginning at 12pm. Interment will follow immediately at St. Peter’s Cemetery (Lake Avenue Ext, Danbury). A celebration of life will be held the same day at American Legion 62 Bunker Hill Oakville from 4pm till 8pm.
