Aleman Ellington Obituary

In Loving Memory of Aleman Ellington
July 4, 1947 - March 18, 2024

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Aleman Ellington, a cherished man of God, a southern gentleman devoted family patriarch, esteemed member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity (Pledged and initiated with Delta Gamma at Alabama A & M on April 22, 1967), and retired executive of IBM. Aleman, aged 76, departed this world on Monday, March 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will forever endure.

Born on the Fourth of July in 1947, Aleman's life reflected the spirit of independence and resilience. During his distinguished 40-year career at IBM, he exemplified dedication and achievement, shaping the landscape of technology with his unwavering commitment.

Yet, beyond his professional endeavors, Aleman's true passion lay in his family. For 54 years, he was the loving husband of Essie, a devoted father to Anthony (54), Darril (56), Christina (41), and Christopher (40), and a beloved grandfather to numerous adoring grandchildren. His family was the cornerstone of his existence, and his boundless love and support enriched their lives immeasurably.

Aleman found solace and joy in life's simple pleasures. A lover of music, he reveled in the melodious strains of jazz that filled his home. His green thumb was renowned, crafting a breathtaking garden that bloomed with vibrant hues and fragrant blooms. Fishing, photography, and his cherished Cadillacs were among his favorite pastimes, each reflecting his appreciation for elegance, beauty, and the richness of life's experiences.

As a dedicated member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Aleman embodied the values of brotherhood, scholarship, and service, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His involvement in the community, including memberships in the Elk's Lodge and his commitment to education, underscored his dedication to making a positive impact on the world around him.

Aleman's quiet strength, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving a legacy of kindness that will endure for generations. Though his words were few, his actions spoke volumes, leaving an indelible impression on all who crossed his path.

In celebration of Aleman Ellington's remarkable life, a celebration of life service will be held on Monday March 25, 2024 at 11am at New Hope Baptist Church, visitation will be prior beginning at 10am, inviting all who knew and loved him to honor his memory.  In lieu of condolences, the family welcomes floral greenery tributes, surrounding Aleman with the beauty he cherished throughout his life.

May his soul rest in eternal peace with Jesus, his memory forever cherished in our hearts.

In the tapestry of life, Aleman's thread,
Wove faith and love, where angels tread.
Like Moses, he led with strength and grace,
In every step, God's guiding embrace.

Born on the day of freedom's call,
His spirit soared, his heart stood tall.
A Psalm of life, his anthem sung,
In service to all, old and young.

As David faced Goliath's might,
Aleman battled with courage bright.
Through trials and triumphs, he stood strong,
In God's arms, where he belonged.

"Love thy neighbor," the verse he lived,
With open arms, his heart he'd give.
In Matthew's words, his light did shine,
A beacon of hope, in every line.

With Proverbs' wisdom, he led the way,
In every deed, in night and day.
A man of honor, a man of truth,
In God's love, he found his youth.

As Ecclesiastes tells of time,
In Aleman's life, a sacred rhyme.
For every moment, every breath,
He cherished life, in birth and death.

In Revelation's promise, he found peace,
Where sorrow ends, and joys increase.
In God's kingdom, he'll rest at last,
His legacy eternal, steadfast.

So let us gather, in prayer and song,
To bid farewell, to one so strong.
In God's embrace, his soul now flies,
To dwell forever, in paradise.
