Ruth McClintock Obituary

Ruth Doris McClintock, born in Plains, PA on December 3, 1929 to the late Beatrice and Paul Hoffman, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2018 in Ridgefield, CT surrounded by her loving family.

During the early 50s, Ruth thrived as a stewardess for Capital Airlines where she met and eventually married her beloved husband, the late Capt. Harold “Mac” McClintock. During their time with Capital Airlines, they flew many trips together having the time of their lives. Together, they had three children and lived in many beautiful places including Mound, MN, Annandale, VA, Dillsburg, PA, Cocoa Beach, FL, Evergreen and Durango, CO, and Danbury, CT.  Ruth’s years on Deer Head Manor Farm in Pennsylvania made for some of her fondest memories. While in Florida, Ruth was both a realtor and owner, along with her husband, of Sarno Realty. While in Evergreen, she loved her years working at Barnett Chiropractic, where she was fondly known as “Dr. Ruth.”

Some of Ruth’s many fun activities included fishing, hiking, camping, canoeing, water and snow skiing. As a youngster, she spent many a day at Hershey Park, PA socializing at the pool and enjoyed many concerts there, namely Glenn Miller, Jimmy Dorsey and Louis Armstrong. As an adult, nurturing her home gardens and spending time with family brought her many days of joy. Ruth also loved to travel, visiting exotic places such as Malaysia, Singapore, the Caribbean and numerous European countries. Her favorite though was sunning on the beaches of Kaua’i, HI.

Ruth was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. To her, family was everything, and she always said that having and raising her children was her “greatest achievement.” She will be greatly missed and remembered lovingly by her children, Jan Ibarra, Bryan McClintock and Amy McClintock, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May her beautiful spirit grace the heavens.
