Arthur Kelley Obituary

Arthur Kelley, 85, passed away peacefully after several years with Alzheimer’s disease, at home on Monday, February 19, 2018 in Danbury, CT. He was born March 30, 1932, son of the late James and Inez Jennings Kelley in Chattanooga, TN.

In his early years Arthur had such a passion for cooking, working & learning in many restaurants in different States, and later became a chef, creating his own signature dishes. He was known to be “Jack of all Trades” fixing, building, and could create anything. He also loves to sing, which he had a beautiful voice. Arthur was also a beloved husband and married to the late Marie Kelley for 40 years.

Later in years Arthur started working for U.P.S airport in Newark NJ. He was one of their outstanding employees receiving numerous awards for perfect attendances and performance. After 20 years of service Arthur retired in 2000. He enjoy traveling going many different places, he drove cross country twice.
 
Arthur is survived by one daughter Cynthia(husband)Gregory Little, one grandson which he cherished Ja’Shon Little and a special niece/caregiver Lynette Armstrong all of Danbury CT; two sisters Janie Wilder of Cleveland OH; Louise McGuire of Atlanta GA; and one brother William Kelley of Huntsville AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was predeceased by a son Arthur (Archie) Kelley; four sisters Virginia Jennings, Flora Kelley, Cecelia Kelley, and Gloria Jean Kelley and four brothers Jessie Jennings, James Jennings, Alvin Kelley and Marvin Kelley.

The family wishes to thank everyone for all your cards, telephone calls, and words of encouragement, prayers and other expressions of sympathy. There are no words to express how deeply we appreciated your love and support in this time of sorrow in our lives.
